Jeff Glickman received his formal education in Mathematics (BS, The Ohio State University) and Computer Engineering (MS, Case Western Reserve University). This was followed by a move from Jeff's native Ohio to New Mexico in 1976, where he directed the implementation of computer technology at The College of Santa Fe. His career culminated with his reception of the prestigious Professional Staff Member of the Year Award in 1998 as Director of Information Systems and Computer Services.
Jumping from academia into the dot-com world, Jeff worked for over a year with an Internet startup company (searchbuilder.com, now Situ Partners), performing search engine optimization, analyzing web site traffic, and creating informational web sites for clients; three of his domains received Best of Web Awards from NBCi. Subsequently spit out of the dot-com world when that bubble burst, Jeff has determined that the time has come to prioritize what had been on his back burner during his professional career: Photography.
Jeff has been photographing "the startling light" of New Mexico since the day he moved there, when he witnessed the light of day's end bathe a huge cottonwood tree in saturated splendor. Twenty-five years later, the same tree has been photographed hundreds of times, during all seasons, in an endless variety of lighting conditions ... from the same spot in the driveway. A study in the passage of time as well as the variation of light, The Tree series exemplifies his love for fantastic lighting situations and his recognition of the unceasing variety in nature's exquisite displays.

He shoots to create abstract and dramatic images. "I try to leave few clues to the context in which a photograph was taken, in order to engage the viewer with image content that is at once both familiar and yet not so familiar. Such an image captures viewer attention quite nicely. Such an image can be viewed day after day, year after year, all the while maintaining fresh pleasure, at times with a feeling of anticipation."
Composition
is the most vital aspect of Jeff's image creation. He sees the world as an
already painted canvas from which an image is selected - when a 3-D scene is
composed onto a 2-D piece of film. "Composing is not only a process of editing
something in and editing something out. It is also a process of abstracting direct
experience to a form capable of bringing the essence of that experience to
others. I offer my photographs as journeys of the mind and windows to the beauty
of our shared world."
A Photographer's View is the company Jeff has created to perpetuate successful imaging efforts. He is dovetailing his applied math and programming skills with his love for creating fabulous images, in order to offer these images as photographic quality, archival digital prints, shot on location from Coast to Coast, from the American Southwest to the Canadian Rockies, and beyond.
Jeff resides in Santa Fe. In addition to taking photographs as often as possible, he is involved with ThePhotographyGroup.com, is developing his company's web site, and is the Webmaster for ShadowFootball.com.

Paul Glickman is a ubiquitous figure to his fellow Santa Feans. Besides being known as a professional photographer and computer animator, Paul is also accepted as "The Great Paulisimo", "Paul the Puppet Man", and "Professor Pockets", when he puts his 45 year knowledge of magic and puppetry to work entertaining kids and adults in various venues around town. Paul is also the executive director of Columbia Mediation Associates, a private company he created in 1986 which provides business and divorce mediation services.
Before relocating to Santa Fe, Paul was a
motion picture cameraman and head of his own production company
based out of New York. During the span of a twenty year career he
photographed in dozens of countries around the world and in
virtually every state of the union.
His cinematography encompassed children's films, movies
for television, commercials, animation, documentaries, as well as
motion pictures (he shot 30 feature films before retiring to New
Mexico). His short subject Angel and Big Joe with Paul Sorvino
won an Academy Award.
For the past twelve years Paul has been taking pictures of the southwest. A favorite theme among his captured images... rodeo cowboys and their environment.
"I've enjoyed taking these photographs and I'm sure they will bring you and those who share them with you great joy. There is something in having a reflection of the living soul of the west hanging in your home or office to lift your spirits with every viewing."
Paul Glickman
An intrepid traveler, film producer and raconteur -- started his photography career as a ten-year old Bronx boy specializing in trick photography with his Kodak Baby Brownie. In the year 2000, he went on a two month photo assignment in Mongolia and Western China -- Ulaanbaatar to Xian to Kashgar -- along the old Silk Road where some of the photos on this site were taken. But now, almost 60 years, 100 countries and a hundred thousand photos later, Alvin has finally settled down in New York City shooting to his heart’s content -- here, there and everywhere.
Through his New York based broadcast communications company, he has produced over 2,000 films of all lengths and varieties as well as a thirteen-week syndicated Television show. That was work but photography is a passion.
